A bonsai tree forest, to be exact. Much purer than the real thing. Although I think the bugs are larger than life in there, so you’d risk getting eaten by one if you venture into one such forest.

This is a little alcove in the wall of rocks that surrounds the Potomac River, and the shore is filled with fine sand, as you can see. We were on the other side of the river, high up on the rocks, when I took this photo. It’s somewhere near Great Falls, MD, USA.
